Erik Sletten

The work of Erik Sletten is colorful and happy. He seeks to remind us all that there are good things in the world…the goodness in life. In painting, he creates a narrative in which common objects are brought to life, inspiring a sense of joy.

Erik finished an education in fine art in 1995, and has been working as a professional artist ever since. He has exhibited his work in shows throughout the States and Norway. His style of painting, most often acrylic on canvas, can best be described as pop-expressionism. Erik’s unique fracturing of perspective helps to create a whimsical feel. He uses a museum-style gallery wrap, which continues the image around the depth of the canvas.

For Erik, creating a personal work of art is his response to the individual sharing the essence of their life. The painting becomes an artistic expression of that life, and also represents a moment in time.
